Democrat · Florida House District 108

He cares about me
and mine.

Democrat Peter Walsh is a Miami trial lawyer running for State House District 108 — son of a Boston Public Schools custodian, twenty years coaching kids in Miami Shores, the lawyer who beat Rick Scott and the State of Florida in court.

Poverty exists in this community, and hardworking families struggle to make rent and put food on the table. That is not acceptable in one of the richest counties in the richest nation on the planet.

What this campaign is about

The deck is stacked against HD 108.

Tallahassee answers to billionaires and insurance companies. Peter is running because this community deserves a representative who answers to the people who actually live here.

01 · Schools

Schools that work for the kids & families who live here.

Pay teachers more. Stop playing culture war politics with children. Prepare every kid in the district for the world they're about to inherit.

02 · Tax fairness

Florida's working families shouldn't subsidize billionaires.

Stop the sweetheart tax handouts to the wealthy who move here for the loophole. Pay state employees a living wage. Stand with unions and working families, not against them.

03 · Accountability

A Tallahassee that answers to us.

Not to donors. Not to insurance companies. Not to the same recycled politicians cycling through the same offices. Your representative should fight for you.

Why he's running

Twenty years ago, a girl apologized to him for the cockroaches on her own door.

Peter was knocking doors in North Miami when a young girl in a white dress opened one. As he started his door speech, she stopped him and apologized — because cockroaches were climbing onto the outside of the door. She apologized to him.

That image has stayed with Peter. So has the question it leaves: how is poverty like that allowed to exist, here, in one of the wealthiest counties in the wealthiest country on the planet?

Peter is running because he believes HD 108 deserves a representative who has actually delivered for working people — and who rejects the pay-to-play politics of Tallahassee.
